Scientific PROGRAMME

We are very excited to start sharing some details for LUCID 2025 in Birmingham.  The committee are busy finalising the programme and will send out more details with regards to speakers over the next few months.  The programme will have something for everyone; Claims assessors, Underwriters and Insurance Professionals.

Our chosen topics are thoughtfully curated to align with cutting edge insights and hot medical topics; for example Innovative stem cell therapy as treatment for patients who have had a myocardial infarction and research into recovery in childhood cancers.  These topics are ensuring the industry’s continued relevance in an ever changing environment.  We have also chosen to name our key-note lectures after two people, who have had a long affiliation to LUCID.

The first lecture is named after Dr Kevin Somerville. Many of you might be aware that LUCID grew from Kevin’s idea, he was instrumental to the success of the early LUCID and has continued to offer guidance and support – We hope you agree that this is a fitting honour for LUCID’s founder.

The second lecture will be named after Calvin Cole. It’s hard to believe it’s been two years since Calvin left us. Calvin was always a strong and passionate believer in educating and mentoring the next generation of Underwriting & Claims professionals and he was heavily involved in LUCID.  We would therefore like to honour his memory and name one of the lectures, the Calvin Cole Lecture.
