Chair's Welcome

I am delighted to welcome you on behalf of the LUCID organising committee, and I am very pleased to have taken on the role of Chair of the Committee for LUCID 2023. There have been times since we last met in Glasgow that I have doubted we’d ever get together in person for another conference. The last 2+ years have been difficult for everyone and although technology has kept us all connected, I know I’ve missed the in person educational sessions and the face-to-face interactions we used to take so for granted. I am therefore really thrilled to announce LUCID 2023.

After the success of LUCID 2019 in Glasgow and LUCID Lite, our virtual event in 2021, the committee are so excited to be able to host another in person event featuring the very best that LUCID has to offer.

This time, we are moving away from our usual Autumn slot and holding a Spring event in an English medieval city which is full of history and is said to be one of the most haunted in the world – York. To make the most of the Spring weather we are holding the conference at the award- winning racecourse, a great venue with plenty of outdoor space for us to enjoy.

York benefits from great rail-links, just 1hr 45 from London and is serviced by Leeds-Bradford and Manchester airports.

Whilst you will see a few changes in 2023, LUCID will once again strive to deliver an affordable, educational, fun and accessible conference for Life Insurance specialists of all levels . It will provide an opportunity to network, socialise, discuss issues which matter to you with peers and hear from some of the leading medical speakers about the issues we face today, innovations and advancements in our market and a forward-looking lens to see how things may change in the years to come.

We hope that our 2023 conference will once again attract over 300 delegates as we aim to cater for a diverse and international audience of insurance professionals.

As the organising committee continues to work behind the scenes, we look forward to sharing more developments on how the event is progressing in due course and we’ll be providing regular updates through the industry clubs and our social media platforms.
